President Barzani Continues His Baghdad Meetings for the Second Day



Baghdad, Iraq- (Barzani Headquarters), President Masoud Barzani continued to hold meetings in Baghdad today for his second day of the visit to Baghdad. The President received Hassan Alawi, Iraqi writer and intellectual, the two spoke of the developments happening in Iraq and the Middle East in general. The President also met with Iraq's former Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi and other members of Parliament from his bloc.

The President also met with Salih Mutlaq, the head of the Iraqi National Dialogue Front. During that meeting, the President and Mr. Mutlaq discussed some of the events happening in Iraq after the liberation of Mousil. The President reiterated his position on the importance of focusing on the reconstruction of the city of Mousil after the destructive occupation of the terrorists of the Islamic State which lasted for over three years.

The President also met with Ammar al-Hakim, the head of al-Hikmah coalition. Sayyid al-Hakim and President Barzani spoke of the importance of having a new government on the basis of true partnership between the various components of the Iraqi state, all in accordance to the Constitution.

The President concluded his Baghdad trip and is scheduled to meet Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr in the holy city of Najaf.
