Masoud Barzani

On Tuesday, April 22, President Masoud Barzani received His Excellency Mr. Irfan Siddiq, the newly appointed British Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq, in Salahaddin.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Andrew Beasley, the British Consul General in Erbil. President Barzani extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Siddiq, congratulated him on his new role, and conveyed his full support and best wishes for success in his diplomatic mission.

The two sides engaged in discussions on recent developments in the region, the relationship between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq, as well as the upcoming elections to the Iraqi Parliament.

Concluding the meeting, both parties underscored the importance of strengthening the longstanding friendship and historical ties between the people of Kurdistan and the United Kingdom.
