In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful
I extend my warmest congratulations to the people of Kurdistan on the occasion of the New Year. My heartfelt greetings go especially to the proud families of our martyrs and the heroic Peshmerga forces. I wish everyone prosperity and success in the year ahead.

It is a source of great satisfaction that the Kurdistan parliamentary elections were successfully conducted last October. Through this election, the people of Kurdistan clearly expressed their message and will. Therefore, it is imperative that these voices and demands are met by swiftly forming the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, enabling it to implement plans and programs that serve the people of Kurdistan.
We reiterate the need to resolve outstanding issues within the framework of the constitution and existing agreements through dialogue and coordination between the Federal government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government. No further obstacles should be created to the rights of the people of Kurdistan.

As we enter the new year, our region is going through a sensitive period. The developments in Syria, while impacting our region, also present an opportunity for the Syrian people to lay a solid foundation for coexistence, peace, and stability through dialogue and mutual understanding. Our region can no longer endure continued challenges such as violence, terrorism, extremism, and instability. All parties must know that self-imposition will not work.

We hope the new year brings peace and harmony to our region. I pray for God’s protection for our people from illness, hardship, and disasters.
